Conference Terms and Conditions WBC2016 is hosted by the Faculty of Advocates (the 'Faculty'). Bookings for the International Council of Advocates and Barristers ('ICAB') World Bar Conference 2016 ('WBC2016') are subject to the following terms and conditions. By registering for attendance, delegates and accompanying persons confirm their acceptance hereof. Registration All bookings are provisional pending confirmation of receipt of payment in full. Conference and event places are strictly limited and will not be confirmed until registration and payment in full has been received. Registrations are on a first come first served basis. All bookings are subject to these terms and conditions. Please note that some of our Edinburgh historic venues are limited in capacity. We ask that attendance at particular social events is confirmed when booking. Accompanying Partners Accompanying partners are welcome to register for all social events with the exception of the Lord Advocate's Drinks at Edinburgh Castle, which is reserved for full delegates only. Disabled Access The conference organisers will take reasonable steps to assist any disabled attendees. To facilitate that assistance, it is requested that attendees notify the Conference Organisers if they or any accompanying person requires any specific assistance at email@example.com or via Conference Enquiries here. Travel and Accommodation Participants are required to make their own travel arrangements to and from Edinburgh and book their own accommodation. Participants are recommended to make early enquiries regarding any applicable visa requirements for entry to the United Kingdom. Neither ICAB nor the Faculty accept any responsibility therefor. Accommodation Assistance Participants are welcome to take advantage of group booking deals that have been negotiated on behalf of the conference. Arrangements can be made when registering for the conference or by contacting the Conference Enquiries team. Contact details can be found here. Any accommodation bookings made via the WBC2016 booking system are to deVal Events Ltd. DeVal Events Ltd will place bookings on participants' behalf directly with the chosen provider(s). DeVal Events Ltd may earn commissions from those placements. Neither ICAB nor the Faculty are party to any contract for accommodation. Neither ICAB nor the Faculty accept any liability in relation to attendee accommodation arrangements. All claims against either ICAB or the Faculty (or their respective members) relating to or arising from bookings of accommodation are hereby excluded. Payments Payments will be processed and receipts issued by deVal Events Ltd. Card payments will be processed using a third party payment provider. The payment provider will charge 2.5% for Visa/Mastercard payments and 3.5% for AMEX payments. Delegates who wish to make payments by other means are requested to contact the Conference Registration and Accommodation contact here. Cancellations (a) Conference Cancellations: If a delegate is unable to attend, a substitute delegate may attend at no extra charge. Details of substitute delegates must be advised
in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org at least 72 hours prior to opening of the conference. Where no substitute is nominated, delegates may cancel in writing by 28 February 2016 to receive a full refund of the registration fee paid less a cancellation fee of £150 [Part refunds of delegate and guest registration costs are no longer available]. (b) Accommodation cancellations Accommodation cancellations are subject to the terms of the accommodation provider. Details will be available at the time of booking. Data Protection It is intended that the names of participants and accompanying persons will appear in a list to be circulated to participants. We shall also use the information provided herein to provide participants and accompanying persons with information relating to the conference and future ICAB World Bar Conferences by e-mail. By completing the conference application form participants consent and confirm that their accompanying persons consent to the use of their personal details in this manner. If participants or accompanying persons would prefer not to be included within the list of attendees and/or would prefer not to be contacted other than in relation to their booking, please e-mail email@example.com or confirm in writing to the enquiries contact here. Third Party Businesses References in the conference website and literature to third party businesses are made for the information and interest of conference participants. No endorsement is made or warranty given in respect of any business, goods or services referred therein. Neither ICAB nor the Faculty are responsible for the delivery of goods or services by these businesses. Disclaimers Neither ICAB nor the Faculty (including their respective office holders, agents, servants and constituent members) accept liability for loss, damage or injury of any kind that may be incurred by conference participants or by any person accompanying them relating to their attendance at the World Bar Conference 2016. This website and all other conference documentation are provided for interest and information only. No warranty is given as to the veracity of any information, or in respect of any goods or services referred therein. Reliance on any information is made at the person so relying's own risk. Any liability incurred by ICAB or the Faculty to conference participants or any persons accompanying them, whether incurred in contract, delict (including negligence) or otherwise, shall be limited to the sum or sums paid for the booking in respect of that person. ICAB and the Faculty reserve the right to vary, amend or cancel any part of the conference if circumstances arise that in the reasonable opinion of their office holders require such variation, amendment or cancellation. Neither ICAB nor the Faculty (including their respective office holders, agents, servants and constituent members) shall be liable for any loss, damage or expense suffered or incurred by any other person in connection with such variation, amendment or cancellation. Non Barrister/Advocate Attendees WBC2016 is a conference predominantly for the members of the international bar associations of ICAB. ICAB and the Faculty reserve the right to restrict registration for WBC2016 to members of those associations. Without limitation to the foregoing, ICAB and the Faculty reserve the right to cancel the registration of any other persons.
